COVID-19 – What have we learned?

The NO-FEAR project will hold an invitation-only in-person conference for policymakers, decision leaders, and network members to discuss the lessons observed in NO-FEAR during the COVID-19 pandemic. The two-day conference hosted by SAMUR P.C., taking place in Madrid from 28-29th of March, will facilitate a discussion about effective COVID-19 measures and showcase innovative PPE, new disinfection technologies and materials, Tele-Medicine practices.

Since January 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has spread worldwide, affecting countries, communities, individuals and organizations. As part of NO FEAR activities, more than twenty webinars have been held since the beginning of COVID-19, identifying lessons observed and areas for improvement by sharing knowledge and experience of Emergency Medical Service (EMS) personnel and hospital emergency department staff from acute care organizations in Africa, Asia, Europe and America.

The conference aims to bring together practitioners, decision and policymakers, and NO-FEAR network members for a networking event aspiring to facilitate discussion about the COVID-19 pandemic and lessons observed by the NO-FEAR partners.

During the conference, a matchmaking event co-organised with the European Innovation Council will take place. The event will bring together companies, startups and other EU projects such as Co-Versatile and iProcure Security presenting their innovative solutions in the area of PPE, disinfection technologies and materials, Tele-Medicine practices.

During this pandemic, medical practitioners had to face challenges never experienced before, the way health care is delivered had to be changed with the need to reduce staff exposure to ill persons, preserve personal protective equipment (PPE), and minimise the impact of patient surges on facilities. That has forced healthcare systems to adjust the way they triage, evaluate, monitor, and care for patients using methods that do not rely on in-person services. To meet the ever-changing needs of its members, the NO-FEAR consortium wants to gain an overview of new innovative products or services as well as possible suppliers in the field of acute medical care.
